Thief Hall

Thief Hall's brick barn ranges, courtyard and accommodation across the estate

THE WEDDING VILLAGE

One place, and all of it yours.

JESSICA'S OWN WORDS

“Their very own wedding village.”

Jessica's phrase describes the whole estate: the Hall, courtyard, bar, lounge, woods, six cottages and six timber pods are reserved for one wedding at a time.

Jessica and Phillip married in the woods here in 2006. Couples walk into the same woods for photographs today, within the grounds reserved for their wedding.

THE NIGHT BEFORE

The wedding begins before the wedding morning.

Exclusive access begins at 10am on the day before the wedding. The people staying on site can arrive with the couple, unpack in the cottages or pods and help decorate the Hall before the wedding morning.

The bar and lounge can hold the pre-wedding gathering. A smaller group can dine and have drinks in the cottage courtyard. Both take place within the estate already reserved for the wedding, with the accommodation across the lane when the evening ends.

THE CEREMONY

The ceremony starts inside the place that holds the day.

The Big End provides the longer aisle. Our largest ceremony option seats 120 guests. The Small Hall seats up to 120 guests. When the Big End is used, guests can gather in the Small End beforehand.

Thief Hall is licensed for outdoor ceremonies. Millington House and Thief Hole Barn are licensed for smaller ceremonies, seating up to 10 comfortably in each.

THE EVENING

Dinner, the bar and the dance floor share one address.

The Hall holds the wedding breakfast and evening reception, while the bar and lounge remain a separate room on the same estate. The wedding breakfast seats up to 120 day guests and the evening capacity is 250.

Guests move between the Hall, courtyard, bar and lounge as the day changes. The cottages and pods remain inside the boundary reserved for that wedding, so the evening still belongs to the same place in which the ceremony began.

STAYING ON SITE

The return journey is a walk across the estate.

Around 50 guests on site, more with additional beds. Six cottages and six timber pods put those guests on the estate before the wedding and after the party. The couple allocates the rooms from the real guest list.

For the guests with rooms, the route back is contained within Thief Hall. Everyone staying elsewhere still needs accommodation and transport beyond the estate, which is why the room list and the wider travel plan are made together.

THE MORNING AFTER

The shared stay ends before the final night.

Guests leave by 12 noon on the day after the wedding. Breakfast, packing and goodbyes happen on the estate where the wedding took place, closing the shared part of the stay in one place.

The couple has four nights at Thief Hall, including the bridal suite. Once the guests leave at noon, the fourth night belongs to the couple alone.
